Frank rolled his eyes as he entered class for the fourth time that week. They were discussing "Catcher in the Rye" in the senior class while discussing a book called "A Lifetime" by a relatively new but popular writer who wrote under numerous pseudonyms. While discussing "A Lifetime" with his junior class Frank realized he had not seen the boy who had been assulted since monday. He took a mental note to take it easy on him and simply forget he was absent, however class assignments would be a different story.

Frank was lost deep in his thoughts when he heard the soft cords of a familiar song accompanioned by just as familiar singing. He followed the sound round and round but it just seemed to come from the other side of a vast expansion of wall. Frank pressed an ear against the wall recognizing it as a song from a semi-local band called Sons of Irving. "This broken city sky like butane on my skin. Stolen from my eyes. Hello Angel, tell me where are you! Tell me where we go from here!"

Frank felt his way closer to the voice and melodic cords. Eventually he found a very short door and opened it. The lighting was poor but now the cords and the voice were as clear as daylight. Frank quietly closed the door and sat attentatively listening to the young man. When the young man opened his eyes, he found his sight on his teacher sitting cross legged and slightly swaying to tthe sound of the cords being strummed. "Mr-" Frank put his hand up, "I'm not here to drag you to class or report you. I'm just here to enjoy the free concert."

Gerard set his guitar down and Frank stared at Gerard. Gerard fiddled with his long black hair nervously. "So you're the frontman for Sons of Irving?" Even though it was dark Frank could still see a fluster on the younger man's cheeks. "What of it?" Bingo, confirmation. "I'm a fan." Gerard's cheeks became a brighter shade of red. "So Mister Rockstar, why haven't you been to class?"
